In times gone by there were internet companies and food companies and healthcare companies and they made things and did stuff which made them specially structured and suited for the vertical they served then something happened. Healthcare stopped being a vertical, it became a ‘horizontal’. This is not the first vertical that has flipped. Before this Internet was a vertical. Now it is a ‘horizontal’.
Healthcare is fast moving to being a horizontal ‘service’ or ‘value’ which every company must provide. If you are a food company you must provide food that is healthy for your customers. If you are a chair company, you must provide chairs that are healthy for your users. If you are car company….and so on.
Maybe I am biased, but these are exciting times to be in healthcare!! 🙂
